On 12th December 2017, Wal-Mart China announced that a joint sustainable seafood traceability project with China Chain Store & Franchise Association, MSC and suppliers has been launched. Wal-Mart China will introduce sustainable certificated seafood of MSC comprehensively, and as the first pilot in Chinese, Wal-Mart will be involved in seafood traceability system establishment of MSC. Currently, the first four items with ecological labels of MSC have been sold in more than 400 Wal-Mart stores around China. The aim of this project for Wal-Mart is to lead the trend of sustainable consumption and supply safer and more environmentally friendly seafood products in China. (Source: Wal-Mart China 11.12.2017)
